The Minnetonka Police Explorers traveled to Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., to participate in the 2008 National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference July 21 through 26. Approximately 3,500 explorers representing all 50 states attended this year’s conference.
Minnetonka’s very young and relatively inexperienced group of explorers continued to impress their advisors as they earned awards in two events this year. Team A placed fifth in the Crime Prevention Competition, while Team B placed fourth in the Crime Scene Search event. In addition to those awards, Explorer Brian Flynn earned a Chairman’s Twenty Award for his marksmanship in the 9mm pistol shoot. The Minnetonka Explorer advisors are Officer Scott Marks, Officer Jason Tait and Officer Shannon Odegaard.
